The Cooks

The kitchen is made up of local kids from the Fergus and Elora townships with a sprinkling from the rural Wellington County country side and is currently run by Chef/Teacher, Chris Jess.

The Ontario Ministry of Education outlines specific curriculum entitled Hospitality and Tourism which is taught throughout the High School grades (9-12) as an elective. A course chosen by the students, the program works to employ standards outlined in this document and at all times highlights the foods grown within the immediate Wellington County.

Supporting local farmers, the Cater Wellington kitchen works to develop institutional relationships that promote an understanding of how a sustainable local economy is dependent on conscious purveyors of the land.
